I was in Puerto Morelos yesterday to survey the damage from Hurricane Wilma. The town was hit pretty hard and still has lots of damage, even a month after the storm. Townspeople were still busy cleaning the streets and green areas and many hotels and restaurants had renovations underway. Not much is open yet, except for a few small restaurants and shops. Parts of the elementary school, located just south of the town square, were still closed, with sand up to the doorknobs, even though they are more than 100 yards from the current high tide mark.Find resorts, hotels, restaurants, beaches, bars, tours, transportation, news, travel tips and more.
