If you're more into fauna than flora, you'll enjoy the Crococun zoo. Formed in 1985 as a commercial croc farm where the animals were raised for their skins and skulls, it has been transformed into a preserve, where visitors' admission fees go toward rescuing the crocs rather than killing them. The park now has dozens of other animals, including white-tailed deer, spider monkeys, snakes, spiders, and birds. Except for the zoo's three hundred crocodiles, many of the animals are tame enough to pet, which is a real kick for the kids. There is a souvenir shop with T-shirts, maps, and videos, as well as a small snack bar. Open 9-5:30 Monday-Saturday. Adults $16, kids $10; admission includes a one-hour guided tour through the park. Tours leave continually.
