Kor Hotel Group Acquires Mosquito Blue & Beach

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, April 18, 2006 -- The Kor Hotel Group has announced plans to purchase the Mosquito Blue and Mosquito Beach resorts. The Mosquito Blue is a block from the beach and has been one of Playa's top high-end hotels for several years. The Mosquito Beach opened in February and is on the beach, just a couple blocks from the Mosquito Blue. The Kor group has recently acquired several hotels in the Riviera Maya, including the Ikal del Mar. It is also constructing The Viceroy and The Tides resorts in the area.

Kor plans to spend $5 million on a renovation, adding Kor signature touches to both Mosquito Blue and Mosquito Beach. Kor is also set to purchase the 32,000 square-foot Calle Corazon retail center adjacent to Mosquito Blue and add new Mosquito Blue guest rooms and a full service spa.
