Xpu-Ha Palace Re-Opens

Courtesy Palace Resorts
Playa del Carmen -- The Xpu-Ha Palace resort, located south of Playa del Carmen, has re-opened after being closed for almost an entire year. Renovations were begun after Hurricane Emily caused severe damage last summer, followed by a second hit from Hurricane Wilma in the fall. The remodeled hotel has 144 bungalow-style rooms with palapa roofs. Each has a private terrace with hammocks, large jetted tub and superior bedding and bath products. The resort sits on 37 pristine seaside acres and there is a staff of veterinarians and biologists on-hand to take care of the native animals living there.
