PLAYA DEL CARMEN, February 28, 2006 -- The Tides Playa del Carmen is scheduled to open in the Riviera Maya in spring 2008. The company behind the hotel, Kor Hotel Group, is based in Los Angeles, California and focuses on imaginative design, exceptional service and exclusive amenities. The Tides is modeled after the company's original Tides resort, located in South Beach, Miami. Another Kor property, the Viceroy, is currently under construction in Mayakoba, located near Puerto Morelos.
The property will include luxury resort accommodations, 190 private residences and an eight-acre urban retreat. Ninety percent will offer unobstructed ocean views. The resort will also offer a swimming pool, a private beach club, fine-dining restaurant and 10,000 square-foot spa and fitness center.
