Cancun Airport Check-In Goes Wireless

CANCUN, September 12, 2006 -- The Cancun International Airport has installed 10 mobile check-in counters, making it the first airport in Latin America to use wireless check-in technology.

The mobile counters make it possible to register passengers and print boarding passes anywhere in the airport concourse, or even on the sidewalk or at public transportation bays.

The system can be used by any airline that needs to handle a higher number of check-ins than expected, ensuring passengers are provided with a higher level of service. It is also being used for charter flights, large groups and convention travelers.
